I was disappointed with the fresh spring roll as the deep fried tofu was in thick pieces, which didn't align with the concept of a fresh spring roll. The tofu was overly seasoned and didn't complement the dish well. I inquired about the mayo in the banh mi tofu sandwich and was told that it was otherwise vegan, despite not being listed on the vegan menu. The bread lacked a crispy crust which is essential for a good banh mi, and it appeared to be store-bought. However, the sandwich itself was tasty. I may be accustomed to Vietnamese restaurants on the west coast. The lemongrass tofu dish was the highlight of the meal, as it was flavorful and came in a large portion. It was a bit on the greasy side. Overall, I was mostly satisfied with the meal. (See photo for reference)
We had the pho and asked her vegan. the aromen simply didn't work. it was like they just pulled the meat and subbed random veggies. it tasted.
We went to pho tres bien express and had an unfavorable experience (address below), hopefully other stalls are different. we went to a Sunday night. 6205, 4309 fred wilson ave, el paso, tx 79904 when we came in, we asked about their vegan options and the coworker said this is the only one' and showed us a picture of an salat and she said we could remove the meat. there were summer rolls with tofu on the platinum behind her, so there were obviously other options (we are not a fan of summer rolls.) we asked for another article and asked if it had fish sauce in it. she seemed confused by the question and replied that we could get fish sauce on the side. it seemed as if the employee felt that our asking were a bit angry. they had no actual menu to check, but a photobook and some listed items on the chalkboard behind the counter. it didn't seem like the HappyCow description. Maybe if we have another employee who was more knowledgeable or maybe if we went to another place, it would be better not safe. the experience led us to emigrate and look for alternative vegan options.
My experience with the Pho at this restaurant was disappointing. We ordered it vegan but the flavors didn't blend well together. It felt like they simply removed the meat and replaced it with random vegetables, resulting in a strange taste.
We visited Pho Tres Bien Express and unfortunately had a negative experience at this location (address provided below). We hope that other locations may offer a different experience. The address is 6205, 4309 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79904. When we arrived, we inquired about their vegan options and were told by an employee that there was only one option available, a salad that could be made without meat. However, we noticed summer rolls with tofu on the menu board, indicating that there were other options available (although we were not interested in the summer rolls). When we asked about another dish and if it contained fish sauce, the employee appeared confused and suggested we could have fish sauce on the side. It seemed as though our questions were perceived as bothersome by the employee. The restaurant did not have a traditional menu, but rather a photo book and listed dishes on a chalkboard behind the counter. This did not align with the information provided on HappyCow. Perhaps with a more knowledgeable employee or by visiting a different location, our experience would have been better. Ultimately, this experience prompted us to explore other vegan dining options.
