Some of the dishes are interesting. I have to go back and try other dishes. Update 1-15-23 I have tried the shrimp nachos. That is an interesting appetizer. The shrimp chipotle enchiladas sound interesting but are semi interesting. Pasta Chihuahua is an original creation. I like Calabasas so I tried the Chicken Calabasitas. The word eclectic does not do justice to this restaurant. I need to try other dishes. Update 6-14-23 I had the Chicken Kabob. I enjoyed all the flavors. I think I will go back and try all the dishes. Wife had the Chipotle Shrimp Enchiladas again. She is not adventurous. I think that when you go several times you start noticing the small neglected parts of the restaurant. Exhaust vent in bathroom has not been cleaned. A fan in dinning area is broken. When it rains some windows leak. They just placed towels to absorb water. Update 8-13-23 I tried a new dish I had not seen in any of the menus. The flavor was unique. Thank you for adding something new. Update 6-16-25 Spring/summer Manu has a few new dishes. I tried the Mushu Carnitas. It was an awesome experience. Don't take my word for it. You have to try it yourself.
The food here is so delicious. The staff is friendly. I brought home enough food for the next day. I heated it in the oven. It was just as good as it was when I originally ordered it. I will definitely drive over their again to eat. The tea is so good! It is served with a lime slice. The sign says it was featured in DINERS, DRIVE-INS and DIVES. I can see why. The building inside is filled with gorgeous plants. The pesto fries are beyond description!
Update: I had the pleasure of ordering ahead the Tomahawk Steak (24hr notice and wow. I 'm usually really carefully with saying something was the best ever but omg. It was THE BEST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD. It was perfectly cooked to order (I asked for medium rare , perfectly brined prepped and melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned, and came with great sides. It 's perfect for a special occasion when you do a reservation and a few others to help. It could feed 2-3 people with big appetites but also maybe 4-5 with smaller appetites. Thanks! This is probably the best restaurant on the west side of El Paso if not the whole region, which is saying something given the existence of Aurellia 's, Crave, Tara Thai, Pho Tre Bien and so many others. Rulis should impress the casual foodie-inclined diner. Great selection of beer, including some delightful obscure local and regional beers on tap. The pizzas are extremely creative, as are the soft tacos. I just had the toreado sauce steak tacos, and I 'm not kidding when I say they are probably the best tacos I 've ever had (and I 'm born and raised El Paso, so there 's a lot of competition in that statement . There 's a fair chance you 'll bump into the chef and owner Rulis, who 's a really mellow interesting person and happy to answer questions about the menu or just life. :
It wasn't busy at all and we were seated right when we got there, everything was clean. The food was really good. It would be nice if they had a separate dessert menu that stays on the table tho.
You go there for the food, it's really good! The ambiance could be better, yet the food makes up for any flaws in the ambiance or service.
