The food looks and tastes great, and the ambience is great, especially since the energy of the Chin Chin staff and team is so light and approachable! Special thanks to Ms. Pan (sorry if I misspelled your name ? for taking such great care of us and making us feel comfortable! Because of your attentiveness and kindness and great energy, we were able to enjoy our great meal even more! Much love to Chin Chin! ?
Lots of convenient parking. Seated on time. Restaurant is being updated but still open with limited accessible seating. Wonton Stars and Chow Mein were very good and portions large enough for leftovers. Noise level was high today from a large birthday party in side room with internal door left open.
I was really looking forward to a good Chinese food meal. Part of the restaurant is under construction. It was quiet and only a few other tables were occupied except for a retirement party. Took a bit for the food to come out and when it did it was cool and not hot. It looked like the kitchen was right there...but maybe not, I don't know. One of the dishes we ordered was salt and pepper shrimp. It shrimp were not very crispy and they dumped some kind of veggie salsa like component and it was wet thus making the shrimp soggy. The boy chow was way over cooked and we exchanged it for the green beans; they were too crunchy to chew. The orange chicken was kind of dry. The deep fried flank streak was ok. The pad thai was suppose to be spicy but it was very sweet instead. We also had BBQ pork fried rice which was great. Oh well you win some and you put your hands up on others. We did bring all of this to the attention of our waiter. He was very mellow about it and asked if we'd like to ask the chef to redo our entire order. We had waited so long we just at the disappointment meal.
Had lunch here on a Friday at noon but we were nearly alone in the restaurant. Service was good but the food was pretty average. Had a noodle dish that was very bland, garlic broccoli was ok, kung pau chicken was good. Not nearly as good as the PF Chang restaurant whose location it replaced.
Chinese food is hard to come by in the Southbay. I was hoping this would be a good option but I was disappointed. The food was not very flavorful to me. However my husband thought it was tasty as he tends to find a lot of restaurant food too spicy whereas there's not a lot of situations where there's too much garlic if you ask me. We had steamed chicken dumplings, wonton soup, orange chicken, beef with broccoli. Basic stuff and all were basically adequate nothing special. Our waiter was nice but they appeared to be short handed (like so many places nowadays) as we had to wait a while for someone to come seat us. The decor seemed rather overly minimalist and I found the TV set to football not conducive to a nice food experience. Especially when people watching it were screaming and yelling every time they got excited. I doubt we'll go back as we can get better food at Panda Express takeout for a better value and just eat it at home.
