First visit here under the new management. Its nothing special or creative as far as Tex-Mex American food goes, and the menu has shrank quite a bit I think since the change in management, I couldn't find the chili renello on the menu, but maybe I missed it. Anyways, as always with this place the food was good and plentiful, I had the chicken and chorizo dish, I can't remember its name and my fiancee had the jumbo burrito which was indeed jumbo and he very much liked it, the best burrito he'd ever had according to him. The waitstaff/hostess was very nice and we had great service.
Food: A middling assortment of Ameri-Mexican options that will seem very familiar if you have ever been to another cookie-cutter restaurant of its ilk. I felt that I had to order the shrimp FAJITAS, of course. It was comfortably acceptable--nothing about the dish was unique or very inspired in any way, but I have certainly had much worse, so I would say it is OK. The grilled peppers and shrimp were good, the beans rice were probably the weakest parts. Nothing was terrible, though. My wife 's dish was a bit inconsistent, as about half the chicken was severely overcooked. Service: Attentive and the servers had a genuinely pleasant demeanor. They seemed to really care that we had all we needed, and extra kudos to the server we had who I 'm pretty sure did not speak much English at all. Price: Typical, the fajitas dishes were about $10-15. Atmosphere: This is the weakest link for sure. From the outside, it does not look very promising. The interior is fairly bland, the tables are not in great shape, and they actually marked the table numbers in sharpie on the wall itself, which was odd. The menu also had bad typos that even still showed the red underline markup that you would see in a word document. Overall, just needs some work. For the area, it certainly does not come close to being as good as Whiskey Taco or Tortilla Factory, but unfortunately I don 't think it is quite as good as Rio Grande either, which is another cookie-cutter Ameri-Mexican choice. There are plenty of options for the fajitas, to be sure. But with fajitas in the name, I would expect something a little more special. It has potential for improvement as long as they truly put forth the effort, and I would not write it off just yet. As it is, it was just OK.
Food is great as always. But of course, someone was seated directly behind us and pushed on the seat the entire time.
