They failed at nearly everything. Unable to cook food properly is unacceptable at any price range, much less something that's intended to be elevated. I feel bad for the servers that have to diffuse the offensive food that is being put on plates here. I ordered the ribeye and my wife the pork Seville after the short ribs weren't available even though we showed up when dinner was starting. The communication, and lack of accountability alone will not warrant a second trip. After spending 130 dollars and multiple attempts to cook a ribeye, fingerling potatoes and the audacity to send the most expensive dish out with a broke sauce wasn't enough, there was not attempt to repair the experience from our server. She actually hid from us. The scene is beautiful unfortunately it's not even capable of being enjoyed after the offensive boxed mashed potatoes that have the nerve to be called whip are being pushed in front of ones face. This meal kept me up at night as I tried to understand how a team of people managed to mess up every single component of our meals. The pork was horribly overcooked in the remnants of fish which only leads me to believe that the mess that was happening behind closed doors was unacceptable and offensive. This chef should focus on execution before experimenting with the beautiful flavors new mexico has to offer. The respect and integrity of gastronomy is not welcome here. This review has exhausted me and I haven't even elaborated all the things that went wrong in our experience. This establishment deserves so much more...I think? Unfortunately I believe it is inevitable that this project will fall like the multiple that have attempted to make it right here. The investors need to strive for better management and a team that is actually proud to show up.
Let me first start off by saying I understand they have just reopened. We went on September 2 for dinner at 6 o’clock and figuring it would be pretty busy. We expected that. When we arrived there was a large table that was finishing up and we were the only other table in the dining area. There were probably three or four tables with guests on the deck. We were immediately seated, presented the menus, gave our drink orders. Upon returning with the drinks, we gave our orders for our meals which included ordering salads. After some time, the waitress came back and informed us that our food will be coming out shortly and was checking on us to make sure that we were OK. We asked for refills and I asked her where our side salads were. She said oh let me check with the kitchen. She brought us our salads totally had the dressings mixed up. We left it at that. Dinner was brought out and they had totally forgotten my dad’s meal. She looked dumbfounded. She informed us it would be out shortly she would go put the order in. Maybe 20 minutes later we had completed our meals and my dad received his.(let me note that my dad’s meal was not cooked thoroughly. The brussels sprouts were raw) We then asked if we could have the dessert menu as we were going to sit and eat dessert while my dad was finishing up his meal, she brought us the dessert menu and we immediately ordered. We included a dessert order for my dad as he would be finishing up his meal or so we thought by the time they brought dessert. And after what seem to be a pretty lengthy time and receiving the bill for the entire meal, I asked for our dessert to go, the waitress replied, let me go tell the kitchen to box those up. When we got out in the parking lot, I separated the dessert and we parted ways. When we got home, I was astounded at what was in the boxes. We ordered two pieces of cheesecake and two pieces of the margarita, lime cake. Let’s start with the cheesecake, as described on the menu, it would have strawberries on top and fruit. There were three slivers, and I am not exaggerating when I say, slivers, and a few random berries and a large pile of green chili in the corner. The piece of cheesecake was so small that the green chili was enough for 3 servings. Now onto the cake it was quite a large piece with what I want to assume was whip cream. The best way to describe this cake was toast with whip cream on top and again slivers of strawberries with berries. It was SO DRY and definitely not fresh!! I called and spoke with a young lady who told me she was the manager and she stated that they were new and trying to work out the kinks and she apologized. She stated to me that she would get back with me by Monday. I didn’t hear anything from her until I called and left a voicemail on Friday evening. She then called me we spoke again. She apologized again and told me that they were sorry for not hitting the mark and I was very nice and I told her I get it I understand. They are new and trying to work out the kinks. But as for the dessert, I was completely dumbfounded. All I wanted was to be reimbursed for the desserts that got thrown in the trash. She told me she would get back with me later that evening, which was Friday the eighth or Saturday morning I have yet to hear from her. If you want to continually apologize for your staff, not being trained, or the kitchen help not being trained then I do believe that it should’ve been worked out before you ever opened the restaurant. It appeared to me that it was more important to serve the guests on the deck that were ordering alcoholic beverages than the family that was sitting in the dining room by themselves and had just spent $150 minus the meal they removed, it would have been a $200+ bill. They were not busy. There was no excuse for an hour and a half, forgotten meal, repeatedly, asking for refills, reminding about the dinner salads, and then desserts that were I can’t even really say subpar. They totally missed the mark on this one!
