El Faro - Elgin

The staff, especially the cashier, are very friendly and welcoming. The food is the best I've had compared to their other locations.

I explored the Cinco de Mayo festival in downtown Elgin today, but the lines for the food trucks were too long, and I was too hungry to wait. After a quick six-minute walk, I found myself at El Faro, just past the Metra Elgin station. This place is open 24 hours and offers delicious, authentic, and affordable Mexican food.

The burritos here are a bit different from what I had at El Faro in Summit, but they are still delicious. This time, I tried the tacos with steak and cilantro onions, which were quite enjoyable, although I found them slightly less impressive compared to Los Comales. The hours are convenient for Elgin, as they close at 1 AM. While it's not a 24-hour spot like Summit, it's still perfect for a late-night meal after work. I will definitely return for more, especially for the salsas!

I had an extraordinary time in this restaurant. We loved the wonderful environment and the food. The staff members were very welcoming. I’m glad we ultimately decided to try this place.
