Today I got a slice of German Chocolate cake which was a disappointment. It was not fresh, it was hard and cold and tasted unlike any I've had before. It had some walnuts sprinkled on top instead of pecans which was odd. In the past, I got the caramel topped apple pie. The caramel was hard and cracked off in big chunks, I didn't care for it. I do like their pecan pie and my child likes their ice cream. The employees are usually fairly nice but clueless when it comes to the rewards program.
If you're looking for a great place to stop for a cool down this summer, this is THE place to go in Elizabethtown (Etown)! They have lots of traditional flavors, like butter pecan, mint chocolate chip, chocolate, or classic vanilla; along with their own flavors like Smurf, or Peace, Love, Chocolate. Each has their own excellent dose of flavor and exceptional creaminess. If you're craving baked goods, such as cupcakes, cakes, cookies, or pie, they've got you covered there as well! Generously topped with homemade meringue, their coconut cream, butterscotch, lemon, and chocolate pies are fan favorites. The Dutch apple caramel pie is probably one of their most popular pies. If it happens to be in stock, I highly recommend giving it a try! They sell their cakes and pies whole, and also by the slice. Be sure to grab a take-home menu on your way out because I'm sure you'll be coming back for more!
The ice cream was okay. I bought a piece of pie off the discount shelf. It was good but still over priced for being discounted. The location overall is very plain. Not inviting or appealing. Everything is just okay. The person helping us was also just okay. Not to personable. Nothing here to make you want to repeat visit. One positive take away is there is outdoor seating.
The cake and pies are just ok. Good enough to hit the spot. This is the 2nd time I been. The first time, eventhough, it was good, I told myself never to come again. Only because it is outrageously expensive.A slice of cake is almost $8!!!!
