When we arrived at the new location at noon, we were seated alone in the middle of a wet floor due to a leaking pipe on the west side of the restaurant, even though there were only 4 other occupied tables in the front. It took 15 minutes before our orders were taken, and another 20 minutes for my husband's food to arrive. After 20 more minutes, I still had not received my food. When a server finally came over (not the one who took our orders), she brought me a cup of soup that was burnt and tasted rough. When my order finally arrived 45 minutes after placing it, it was not what I had ordered, and my side of tuna was missing. The restaurant was so dark and dingy that I started to worry if we would get sick after eating there. This was the worst service and the poorest excuse for fresh seafood that I have experienced during my 20 years in Elko.
My daughter and I are from Austin, Texas, visited my son and daughter-in-law. My daughter saw the sign of your restaurant advertising sushi. So we wanted to try the farewell. We ordered food. My daughter, my son and my daughter-in-law were served; the people who had set themselves and ordered after us were served and the 2 gentlemen at the bar who also came in and were ordered after us. I didn't get my food. We were asked how the food was and I hadn't been served. I told the server and he didn't seem to worry in the world that I hadn't been served. I'm a gourmet cook and know how much time the food needs to be cooked. I told my son to pay for the food they ate. The service was very lousy! My legal daughter said this was typical of this institution. The restaurant also smells like a barn. The owners must have a business request.
I live in Elko and am embarrassed that this restaurant exists. I would give it zero stars if possible. We went for lunch at their new location and were seated in the middle of a wet floor due to a pipe leak on the west side of the restaurant, while only 4 other tables were occupied. It took 15 minutes for our orders to be taken, another 20 for my husband's food to arrive, and after 20 more minutes, I still had not received my meal. When we finally flagged down a server (not the one who took our orders), she brought me a cup of burnt and unpleasant miso soup. When my order finally came 45 minutes after ordering, it was incorrect and my side of tuna was missing. The atmosphere was dark and dingy, and I began to worry about getting sick after our visit. This was the worst service and the seafood was not fresh. This experience is the most disappointing I have had in the 20 years I have lived in Elko.
While visiting my son and daughter-in-law in Austin, Texas, my daughter and I decided to try a sushi restaurant we saw advertised. Unfortunately, our experience was less than satisfactory. Despite ordering food, my daughter, son, and daughter-in-law were served, as well as customers who arrived and ordered after us. However, I never received my meal. When asked about the food, I informed the server that I had not been served, but he seemed indifferent to the situation. As someone who appreciates good food and cooking, I was disappointed by the lack of care from the staff. I instructed my son to pay for the food that had been eaten and left the restaurant. My daughter-in-law mentioned that this kind of poor service was not uncommon at this establishment. Additionally, the restaurant had a unpleasant odor. It seems that the owners may not have a bright future in the restaurant business.
This is not the Kubuki Sushi in Elko Nevada.
