Georges Restaurant - Elliot Lake

Service was attentive but the food was mediocre at best. We had fish and chips that was unremarkable and the dessert even less so

Had lunch today and the garden salad and fish and chips with cole slaw was excellent. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was friendly.

My family and I have eaten at every restaurant in Elliot Lake except George's Place. That is, until a week ago. I've always thought that the outside of that place looked kind of dumpy, so going inside didn't appeal to me. However, against my better judgement, about a week ago, I let my family talk me into trying George's Place out. There are a lot of restaurants in Elliot Lake with excellent food, unfortunately, George's Place isn't one of them. The food we were served had been cooked and refrigerated (possibly for several days waiting for customers to place their orders. Our meals were reheated, (possibly in a microwave then thoroughly drenched in gravy. Lots and lots of heavy, greasy, gravy. (What a great way to disguise days old food. Their cake/pie machine which sits dead centre of the place is so loud that we had to raise our voices to hear each other. It was quite an experience to say the least. We'll never go back there!

The schnitzel was amazing I will definately eat it again!! Nicely deep fried and a very nice gravy as well ! The veggies could be a little lest cooked .All in all we all enjoyed it .

The pan fried fish and chips literally made us sick....stick with the pizza, it is awesome! We have not tried anything else from this place yet but we will because we love greek food!
