Charlie's Catfish - Ellisville

The food was excellent. The catfish was both fresh and delicious. They serve a bowl of coleslaw, hush puppies, and a bowl with a large piece of raw onion and lemons. I appreciated the raw onion, but it was a bit too thick for me to enjoy. I will definitely return when I visit Mississippi again. My only complaint is that they only accept cash.

The catfish here is tasty, and while the service and atmosphere aren't exceptional, the food is quite decent. It's a nice local spot, though I've had better fried catfish elsewhere. One person in our group ordered the hamburger steak and unfortunately found a long hair hidden beneath the gravy. Despite that, I think I'll give it another chance on our next visit.

If you're in a hurry, this isn't the right place for you. If you're dining alone, you might want to reconsider. However, if you have some time to spare and enjoy coleslaw and crackers, it's worth giving it a shot. The food is well-seasoned and quite enjoyable.

Always the best boiled shrimp anywhere. But also the best hushpuppies and cole slaw
