Hae Woon Dae - Elmhurst

On my first visit, I dined there during the day, and as I was leaving, an older gentleman (Ajeossi 아) chased after me outside, but I managed to get away. Unfortunately, it was one of the days I was cashless, so I couldn't help him. I returned after a long time away from Korean food, but I went in the early morning hours due to my work schedule. This visit went much more smoothly, but my subsequent visits have been a mix of good and bad experiences with both the food and service. I've come to realize that going during regular working hours usually results in the best experience. During these hours, you can also encounter club-goers who can be quite loud! It's clear that the alternating staff significantly impacts the overall experience.

The Kimchi is great. I have the BBQ Combo B, it's very respectable. Some times, the restaurant can make a little short, but the food came quite fast. They are open all day, so it is a good way to go, have some drinks and Korean food at any time of the day.

It offers BBQ and casual Korean food，but it is a little expensive. However, you have really a lot of choices here. If the price is reduced by 10%, I would suggest it is a good place. Now, here is above the average for both it's price and quality

The food was delicious. The service was a little slow but the waiter was nice!

For a table for two, the meal includes potatoes, sprouts, fish cake, kimchi, japchae, cauliflower salad, bok choy, and cucumbers. We started with seafood pancakes as an appetizer; they were quite crispy but could benefit from a bit more seafood and chives. Still, they were decent. I highly recommend the gopchang (beef intestine) hotpot, which comes with mushrooms, chives, watercress, cabbage, udon noodles, tofu, and gopchang. It has fantastic flavor and just the right amount of spice—perfect for a hearty winter meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would definitely return!
