The Grand Hotel - Eltham

Service was really good, very attentive waitress/barmaid. Drinks a bit dear for a Pub. Food OK without being outstanding, don't try the Calamari unless you have your own teeth. Fish was nice but overcooked.

The food and atmosphere make it a great drinking hole or place to just eat. It is great in summer when the air con is working, it is also very snug in the winter with the fire going and having a lovely pub meal.

A small family group birthday gathering. Small children and adults enjoyed the experience at the Grand Hotel. Child friendly, great food, friendly staff and a super location. After delicious meal a lovely walk along the yarra. Feeding ducks, playground close by, taking in the local attractions and perusing the shops and galleries. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a pleasant lunch at this bistro, which is not to be confused with the completely separate bar located next. The bistro is set in a lovely riverside shopping strip, elevated above the road so as to offer a pleasant verdant view, and once inside we found ourselves in a warm and quiet place with enough customers to make the place feel comfortable without making the place seem croweded or noisy. We were welcomed by both the warm and helpful staff, and the aroma of the fireplace. Ordered mains, which were very good - pulled pork burger, chicken parmgiana - both served with beer-battered chips). Unusually, we also ordered dessert because the dessert menu was actually interesting. In this case, we ordered pecan piewith gingerbread icecream and a caramel-like syrup). This dessert was excellent. THe accompanying coffee, however, was bitter and overheated, but this was the only notable issue. We had a great time, enjoyed good food and service, did not pay pretentious prices and we would be pleased to return soon to explore more of the appealing menu. Thank you.

The food at the hotel is always good but tonight the steaks were fantastic! They even raced through my wife's order as she needed to leave earlyNow for the second part of the service for other 4 of us! Well the service was not the experience you'd hope for! We had too wait for more than 40 minutes for the meal! We had to ask when the meal was coming. It appeared, No apologyThis really took the gloss of such fantastic chefing
