Food Of Peking - Enfield

I went to this restaurant yesterday and ordered some food. The chicken had a strange taste, was tough and clearly not fresh. The special fried rice also tasted odd, as if it had been sitting out for days. I was very disappointed and felt let down, especially since I was really hungry until I tried the food and had to spit it out. This place is definitely not the best takeaway option in Palmers Green.

I placed an order for pick-up at 17:30 to be ready by 19:30. When I arrived at the restaurant, I saw around 20 people waiting for their food. Some customers had been waiting for over an hour past their pick-up time. Despite the obvious struggle of the staff, they were still accepting orders. My food was finally ready an hour late. The satay chicken was dry, the beef was extremely chewy and inedible, and the prawn toast was overly oily. I suggest avoiding this place.

Ordered twice in a week from Food of Peking whilst visiting Palmers Green. Food was delicious and good value. First visit we ordered special fried rice, special chow mein and singapore vermicelli. Second visit we order 2x singapore vermicelli (one spicy and one mild), chow mein and sweet and sour chicken hong kong style. All dishes were very nice and the dry fried noodles and rice all had proper 'wok hei ' hot wok taste/aromer. Recommended.

Long story short.. I was waiting for the delivery over 1 and half hour (I live 5 mins walk from the restaurant). They brought the food just before their closing time. When I just mentioned to the delivery guy about the waiting time he rapidly took the money that I still held in my hand to pay and turned around to his car. No apology, nothing.. I would never order again.

My family have been ordering food from Food of Peking for 30years and it is the best Chinese food we’ve ever eaten. The food is delicious and non-greasy, the prices are reasonable and the delivery is always on time, amazing service.
