Fluehmatt - Engelberg

Die allseits gelobten Engelberger Älplermagronen nicht probiert, geht die Speisekarte nicht über das 08:15-Niveau hinaus. Landschaftlich schön gelegen, nutzt die Flühmatt das Potenzial nicht, das Natur und lokal-regionale Produzenten zu bieten haben, einmal abgesehen von Käse und Butter für die Älplermagronen. Es scheint an Inspiration zu mangeln, was von anderen Bergbeizli in Engelberg nicht gesagt werden muss (beispielsweise Restaurant Alpenrösli und Gasthaus Stäfeli).

Fluhmatt is one of my favourite spots in Engelburg. Its an easy walk from Ristis or up (up is up!)from the town. Once you have eaten their amazing Alpermacaroni you can walk down through the forest back to the town. The service is friendly and efficient. If you are looking for the real Swiss Alp feeling this is the place to go and includes an amazing view while you enjoy the culinary delights.

After a long hike in the mountains, I took a well-deserved break at this wonderful restaurant! I was warmly welcomed, enjoyed delicious food, and had an excellent cold beer! The lady who served me deserves a perfect score, she was very kind and left me with nothing but positive energy for the rest of the journey! I ordered a pork chop with french fries, ketchup, and mayonnaise. I sat outside on the terrace, which looked beautiful, adorned with flowers. The interior is just as warm and cheerful! It's the most beautiful place in Engelberg that I've been to! Tip: visit on a sunny day.

Very nice atmosphere with the most delicious schnitzel with rösti I have ever had. The staff is very nice and friendly and it was definitely worth the hike up to the restaurant on a day when the slopes were closed for skiing.

A local restaurant with high quality local food and great service. A hidden gem of Engelberg.
