Unsure of what size to get, we both ended up choosing the small baby size, one in a bowl and one in a cone. The portions were generous and we were surprised by the amount of ice cream that came with the small size. This is definitely a great spot to satisfy your cravings for a large serving of ice cream.
I had a great time yesterday stopping for an ice cream on my way home from a house in Bowmanville (Monday, July 1st). We decided to try the new location after seeing a long line at the original store. We were not disappointed. Despite the bathroom not being clean, it was clear that it was the fault of the previous user, not the staff. I ordered a baby size ice cream, but as you can see from the photo, it was anything but baby-sized!
We stopped in for some Kawartha Dairies ice cream and ordered the small size, which turned out to be very generous and we couldn't finish it all. There were so many delicious flavors to choose from. The ice cream was very tasty.
Just a short stop here for a coffee and a snack (yummy cheese curds! . We stopped here before we went to Peterborough. The store has a great little country store vibe. There are lots of fun cottage decor for sale. I think... what may be most famous even though it's its Kawartha ice cone! When we entered the doors, there were a number of people knocking and licking on these huge pots of ice cream! Everything in a great place to stop when in the area.
I am so very proud of our little store. I grew up in Enniskillen and have seen it change so much over the years. What it has become now is amazing. I love all the giftware and old time candy they have brought in. Of...course, Enniskillen is famous for its Kawartha Dairy Icecream but there is so much more to enjoy in the store now. It has gained so much popularity when I was there around 73:0 Saturday night there were about 20 people hanging around eating cones and sitting outside. The only thing I wish is this: Enniskillen merch!! I didn't see one thing in the store. I would love to have some Enniskillen t-shirts or sweaters to sport around. Postcards framed pics etc.
