We walked in and the host ignored us. Skipped us while we were waiting. She over heard us discussing where we wanted to sit. Wait for a table or sit at the counter. We did sit at the counter. My husband got the red flannel breakfast which he loved. I got the chicken salad which was good and pur son got the chicken tender platter. He ate most of it.
We took my Father out for lunch yesterday the food was great and the waitress was the best.
We seated ourselves. Looked like there were 2 servers but neither acknowledged us like our table didn't belong to anyone. Finally, after 10 min or so, a very nice server took our order and everything from then on was perfect.
What a great little diner!!! The wait staff is friendly, kind, patient, and welcoming. The food while good could be five stars with a little tweaking. If you’re going to serve southern food… serve it the way it’s meant to be eaten. I had the liver and onions with pickled beets over cottage cheese and a baked sweet potato. The liver was a little tough (most likely frozen because it’s not a hot item to sell. The onions should have been strips that stewed in a beef gravy and served with gravy over the liver. Don’t get me wrong this is a very easy dish to dry out. The lovely server did bring me a side of beef gravy and all was well. She was taken aback when I asked for the beets served on the cottage cheese ?. But the beets were perfect! The baked sweet potato was ever so slightly over cooked and again she was perplexed when I asked for it served with sweet cream butter and a dusting of cinnamon. But, it came out tasting great!!! I ended the meal with a strawberry rhubarb pie and ice cream ? ?. Delicious. For those of you wondering they proudly serve Coke and NOT Pepsi!!! All around good ? I will be back Dinner for three with 5 desserts ??… $72. Not bad!
