Antico Ricupo - Ercolano

There may not be many tourists around in January but those that do visit the area still want to eat and this was the only restaurant open for miles around. So we were pleased to find a warm welcome here and a good variety of dishes on the menu. Being near the spiritual home of the pizza, I couldn't resist the Quattro Staggioni and wasn't disappointed. My children had the Marguerita which was as good as it gets and all quite reasonably priced. Thank you to the staff (and I suspect the owners) for your kind hospitality. Next time we visit Vesuvio, we will try to come again!

We were staying nearby and after poor customer service elsewhaere we visited Antico Rocupo with no idea what to expect. We couldn't believe the friendly and helpful greeting. The food was all recommended. The wine was their own and both food and wine were delicious. Starters kept coming and we were delighted with the quality and this continued throughout. The staff were lovely and we returned a couple of nights later for another meal. This time the restaurant was full of locals which was not surprising to us. It's not quite what you'd call on the beaten track. Highly recommended.

Amazing food!! Traditional, well cooked, tasty Italian food. In the heart of Vesuvius, and cooked with love. The waitress and chef were very kind and very helpful especially with non-Italian speaking guests to the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!! Please visit here when in town!
