If you haven't been to Joan's on Third, you'll wonder where it has been all your life when you finally do. They offer a variety of delicious goodies, from baked goods to deli items and beyond. The service and atmosphere at this all-day gourmet grocer and cafe are inviting, personable, and positive. They have a selection of salty, sweet, and classic snacks, as well as salads, frozen items, pantry items, and even wine and beer. While I couldn't try the Garden Veggie Bagel Sandwich due to an allergy, they were accommodating and provided a complimentary, fresh, and tasty alternative. They also offer delicious hash browns and a variety of plant-based options from 9AM to 4PM daily. My friend enjoyed the buttermilk pancakes on the weekend, and the coffee was excellent, especially the cold brew. Meeting Joan was a highlight, as her energy lights up the entire street. This family-owned cafe exudes charm, warmth, and hospitality. Parking is mostly street parking, but it's worth the trip and just a short walk from The Grove.
The food is still excellent and the coffee is delicious. Unfortunately, the pleasure of browsing the store and discovering treats is currently unavailable. Outdoor seating is available.
I walked in and was a starstruck as if Brad Pitt was standing in front of me. Almost. What Isaw was a cASEFUL of amazing cheeses, baguettes, and the ambiance....it was obvious that this place did everything right. I love Furnace. this is French quality everything, from the pastries , to the take outI had a chance to chat with Joan the owner and she describes the food as American comfort. I would say that almost downplays the level of the food , service and menu selection. Wonderful. This place is ranked as my LA WONDERFUL
The self selection salads at this restaurant are delicious. It's a fantastic spot for tasty and healthy salad options. We ordered six small salads at $6 each, which was plenty for two people.
This is a gem of a spot that is perfect for lunch or breakfast. It can get busy at lunch so we had breakfast there and it was awesome. Great food and plenty of tables outside. Really a fun little spot.
