Arturo's Mexican - Ernul

Great Mexican restaurant in New Bern. The wait staff was friendly, courteous and helpful as we tried to decide what to order... Everything looked tempting. Finally decided on the seafood enchiladas (with the red sauce on the side) and an enchilada and taco combo plate. Their chips and salsa got us started and the churros with a cup of coffee was just what we needed for dessert. Parking: Plenty of parking in front of the, and near, the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp makes it easy to access.

Cinco de Mayo was our 2nd visit, both times we really enjoyed ourselves. The chips and salsa are fresh and delicious! I ordered the Parrilla Mar y Tierra (ribeye and shrimp) and it is very tasty! The beans and rice are on point too! The only things I can even criticize are that the flour tortillas are just average (like Mission) and they charge $0.50 for a glass of ice water. You CANNOT complain because their prices are really low compared to other restaurants of similar quality. The fried ice cream is also amazing! We ordered 2 waters, chicken and cheese quesadilla, my entree, wife got three chicken tacos, and the dessert was $30! You really can’t beat the price and the food is great! We will be back frequently. Vegetarian options: Mostly potato, cheese, etc so nothing absolutely innovative for vegetarians like nopal, jackfruit or anything like that but there is a vegetarian section on their menu.

Went for my birthday. Waited 10 minutes to be seated while the girl was spoon feeding a male server at the bar on the side. Brought cold chips to table, asked for queso dip, which arrived after our meal (Fajitas). Which was scorched to the point it smelled like a forest fire and tasted so burnt couldn't eat it. Server should have known better than to serve that from the kitchen. Disgusted. Never going back.

Classic Mexican Restaurant experience, but better. It’s date night quality food for hole-in-the-wall prices, with friendly staff and good service. Show up in your best polo/sundress, or gym shorts and a t-shirt.
