Der Bonner Hof - Essen

Expensive dinner however worth the money. We waited an extraordinarily long time to be served, but when the food finally came we understood why it had taken so long. Absolutely delicious, prime ingredients and tasteful touch.

We had a reservation for five, what is always a challenge for a restaurant: crowded table for four or a spacious table for six? Luckily, we got a table for six, thus we had enough space. The menu card is a bit of confusing especially...for older persons, because it is not hte widely used list type, but more prosaic. Due to that, the order of drinks needs a little bit more time and mixed up the waiters. Subsequent, one drink was forgotten, but after short reminder, was quickly served. Then, there was a greeting from the cuisine, a wonderful creamy veal soup. As starter I had the gamba prawns, with oil, garlic, vegetables and piri piri (chilies). Itwas served in a small bowl, but also it was very hot, there was no indication that the prawns were fried anyway. The small bowl was filled up with oil, so that the prawns were flooded and swim in oil. Maybe this is the right way to serve, but for me it was to oily. Otherwise taste was good. The main course were some schnitzel with fries. The schnitzel were breaded and very tender. But again, the breading didnt show any sign of frying, the whole thing was very light. The opposite were the french fries, they were all brownish, maybe a bit to dark. It tasted all good, but from my point of view, the fries were too dark and the breaded schnitze l to light. Having the roasting at the right thing, it would even taste better. We also had some homemade breadrolls with some butter/dips in the beginning that were nice. It was good food with a nice taste, but msall things bring it down to stars.

We decided to have lunch to celebrate the birthday of my friend. It was an excellent experience, very nice environment and food. Service was special with nice standard, and the food was delicious! I recommend this place also to eat spanish specialities.

We are two hungry friends on the road and chose The Bonner Hof using google maps and drove off the autobahn for it. It was a pleasant surprise to see such a cute and well decorated place. The waiters where very nice and the food...very good. Some ingredients where not available and got changed , maybe understandable on a Sunday afternoon. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the meal. Would recommend to stop there!

Hello. We visited this restaurant the third time. The menu is always nice, special and outstanding as it is not the usual stuff you get everywhere. So this is great. What can be improved is service and (again) the menu. Not much change in there...for several weeks .. Nevertheless a good experience
