Farina - Essen

I had more than one dinner because it was close to my hotel. They was always kind, fast and the food is GREAT! pasta, bruschette, pizza and hamburger, they was all really good! Pasta with vegetable was a surprise. Looks new opening and I really hope he will take the same standard. I will be there again next year for sure. Approved!

Popped in here while in Essen on business. The place kind of reminded me of a chain style eatery. The dishes are all kind of basic, burgers, pizza, pasta, salads etc but not too bad and the service was good for that style of place. I wouldn’t rush back, but if I was stuck eating there would not be a disaster either.

Recently had dinner with business associates and enjoyed Farina. The service was friendly and quick, the wine we chose (an Italian Shiraz) was delicious and the food, appetizers and main courses, were great and flavorful. The place was very busy but staff did a great job managing all customers. I would certainly be back.

Gevoel alsof je bij een keten aan het eten bent. Eten is trouwens niet slecht maar pizza erg zout. Is, voor ons, niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Given I want to take care of my arteries these days and I am on a business trip in Essen, what to do? Given the usual fare is horrifying from that point of view, burgers, curry sausage, melted cheese everywhere. Well go Italian forget pizza and pasta in this case, but they have nice salads. This place in particular has an AMAZING Nizza salad pretty close to the real thing, I had grilled veggies to start and a really good glass of red that the waitress picked. Pleasant terrace and fantastic service that evening with 2 very responsive smiling ladies/girls what ever the latest PC correct way to name them. Given I have few more days in this city, I probably will return.Highly recommended.
