Carlson's Landing - Essex

We arrived just before the end of the season. they did not have the menu we hoped for, in which did a very limited menu, and no child menu. the eating we ordered was fair but expensive. my margarita on the rocks was usually a big ice cube. the table service was excellent, however, like the ambiente. we had very good experiences in past with the restaurant and hope to come back when it opens again. I will make another review at this time. but I wouldn't suggest a visit at this time.

I really like this cozy restaurant. the bar is also very nice with view of the connecticut river. the menu is beautiful and varies regularly. everything we ordered was very good, especially the garlic chicken wings and the Brussel spits. the service was a little slow, but only because the dining room was filled at once. we're safe back.

Short - in low season, but eating was very good and we have our favorite.

Enjoyed our dinner tonight. Great apps with real creative flavors by the Chef. Main course the Filet and Cod were outstanding. Both had very unique flavors added by the Chef's creativity. OUTSTANDING.

We were pleasantly surprised! We were here years ago when they first opened and we’re not thrilled. Glad I gave them a second chance. Started with the beet salad and the tuna tartare then had the swordfish, though it was small it was not over cooked, and the hamburger which my husband loved!
