Very friendly service, but quite slow. Prices are high, but food quality games, although in my personal opinion Lavender is not a taste that should be added to French toast. Coffee's okay.
The service was competent and efficient, with our server being particularly friendly and well trained. The beer and the cocktail menu are both very nice. What we found disappointing was the food. For prices one would expect an elevated fare, and considering that this is a culinary resort, the food should be cooked with good technology. All our dishes were dirty. Veggies were a cheaper and dishonest bunch of zucchini and summer squash to accompany a steak with almost no lake, no taste, and that was overcooked. Pork belly was completely tasteless, and the accompanying pineapple salsa looked like it had been made a few days ago as the pineapple bites were corrupted and sad. The restaurant focuses on the benefits of an upscale casual restaurant, but the execution lacks an excessive experience. Unfortunately, salt would almost have saved this meal, which is too easy to make a mistake for a culinary resort. The grounds are beautiful, with a beautiful kitchen shop, gardens and picturesque buildings. The hospitality company that owns this property should think to invest in kitchen staff as much as they do aesthetics to fit the food to the beauty of the facility.
We had family visits from the state and they were in Essex. We had breakfast in the tavern before they left and it was really nice. We were in a room with us and we were all able to talk and hear. Our food was great and our server was very attentive. It made a really nice end to our visit.
Lovely staff, small but well-rounded menu, great fries. I'm not sure how well I liked a pumpernickel bun for a salmon burger, but it was at least different. The tiramisu was amazing, though!
