Scotch Plains Tavern - Essex

Scotch plains tavern has such a unique and beautiful atmosphere. eating is always good and cheap. when I first booked my 9 o'clock reservation, I didn't realize that the kitchen closed at that time, but they called me the day before to check and asked if I wanted to move the time up so that we could eat it in the time. my guests were also super impressed and can not wait to go back!

We had an early reservation at 5:15 because nothing was later available on open table. only a few people were there when we arrived, but more came later. Sierra was our server and she did good work. my salmon was excellent, like the steamed brokkoli and reispilaf. my man thought that the crust crust could use more crumbled, it was bland, like its rice that covered the fish. he would like to have butter on the brokkoli to give it more taste. I asked for salat dressing for my brokkoli, and Sierra was nice enough to bring some. I had prosecco and my man had 19 Crimean cabins. we decided to skip the appetizers and desserts this time as we have eaten so much during the week. we're here before and we're gonna go back.

Not our first time in scotch plains tavern and will be last but not least. casual and comfortable. eating was excellent and surprisingly fast prepared. the service could have been better. love this place!

Great food, especially the entrees. Service was excellent, friendly, and attentive. Definitely make a reservation as it is a popular place and hard to get seats if not planning ahead.

We had a lovely lunch before a matinee show at Goodspeed. Food was VERY good, service was excellent, staff is friendly and attentive, restrooms are very clean.
