This place is what I would call a first class breakfast spot. Has the feel of a family run spot, warm, inviting and welcoming.Breakfast portion are generous and the food is delicious. Freshly squeezed juice, top ups on coffee and slices of peameal bacon that are 1/4” think resembling mini pork chops.Iconic cities like New York, Chicago and New Orleans have many such places that have been around for decades. Classic diners or breakfast joints. Toronto does not have many. This is one place that I would classify as that. Great food. Reasonable prices. Great service and completely unpretentious. Well worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed.Parking: Street parking available.
I have visited this restaurant twice. The first time, the food was perfect. However, the second time, my eggs were cooked incorrectly - I ordered sunny-side up but received over easy. Upon cutting into the egg, it was nearly raw inside. Additionally, the pancakes were chewy with an odd taste.
I had a perfect start to my day at this restaurant! The staff were so friendly and my takeout order was beautifully packed with all the necessary cutlery and condiments. The omelette I ordered was delicious, with plenty of cheese. The coffee was also fantastic. I'm glad I didn't settle for a breakfast sandwich from Tim Hortons. There are many paid street parking spots available, and a municipal parking lot across the street.
Breakfast with a friend on a Sunday. Atmosphere was after church family chaos busy, loud, and relaxed. The food was quite good: 3 eggs (standard) with bacon and hashbrowns (which I thought were more like potato pancakes or rosti), toast, jam. Coffee extra. The place was packed and a bit cramped. We were lucky to get a table along the wall. Service was quite slow. We had to ask for cutlery and coffee refills. On the plus side, my eggs were perfect medium over easy, and bacon was crispy. Potatoes were slightly under cooked, and the food could have been hotter. They were out of rye bread. Ample portions of potatoes and bacon but still seemed expensive for standard breakfast. $50, including tip for 2. Street parking. There are lots of breakfast places in the area, but I would give Creme de la Creme a second chance. Menu available online.
