Tapville Social Evanston

The ambience was noisy but friendly. The tacos were tasty and the beer on tap was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a night out in a good neighborhood place.

Went for dinner. Loved it! Great food! Service was great! We had our own server which we liked, as opposed to ordering ourselves. She was wonderful! Our grandchildren were with us. They accommodated the kids with little things like fresh veggies and dip, and getting their food out quickly. There were 6 of us, and everything we ordered was delicious, from apps to dessert. I highly recommend the short rib sandwich. I only got to eat a quarter of mine as the kiddos loved it and shared with me. The Mexican sweet corn was also a huge hit! The Cheesecake flight and dessert bars were fun and delicious. It is a bit loud , but since we had kids with us, that was not a bad thing. Although they were extremely well behaved. All in all a fun Friday dinner. We will definitely be back. Oh wait.... the beverages also were great! We ordered beer, a mixed cocktail and 2 lemonade flights. All were great!

I was unaware that the physical menu was not available. I should have double-checked before making a reservation. Unfortunately, the popular brand of beer was not in stock. Our food orders took a long time to arrive, with one person receiving their meal halfway through before the other four. Despite these issues, the restaurant provided a nice atmosphere for those who enjoy that type of ambiance.

I was excited to visit this restaurant, but was ultimately disappointed. I had a reservation for 12 o'clock, but when we arrived late, we had to wait until 12:40 for the bartender/server to come take our order. They informed us that we could order using the tablet on the table. However, even though we placed our order, I never received my drink and we never got our food. We tried to get help by pressing the button on the table twice, but no one came. Eventually, another waitress helped us, but by then my flatbread was cold and my companion never got to eat. They offered us cold fries as a gesture of goodwill. By 2 o'clock, we were so frustrated that we asked for our bill to be cancelled as we had another reservation to make and no time to eat. The only positive aspect of our experience was the friendly and apologetic waitress who tried to help us. Despite receiving free dessert for our anniversary, the lack of honesty and attentiveness from the staff left a bad impression. We will not be returning to this restaurant in Chicago.
