G D Ritzy's - Evansville

The French fries are exceptional! Their ice cream is delicious as well. I also appreciated the quick and friendly service!

G D Ritzy's serves excellent burgers, and their hand-dipped ice cream is simply delightful. The fries, though small, are also very delicious.

First of all, I didn't get to try any of the ice cream, which seems to be their main point of pride, so my review will focus solely on the meal. The atmosphere is charming, although it's clear that they haven't made many updates over the years. This has its pros and cons—our disposable tray liners were from 1990—but overall, the place was clean. The burger was enjoyable, but I didn't find anything particularly standout about it compared to others I've had. The fries had potential but were unfortunately soggy rather than crispy. I plan on coming back to sample the ice cream, but I probably won't return for a meal again. It wasn't bad, just nothing remarkable.

Whenever we're in Evansville, we always make a stop for an ice cream cone. Our favorites are the butter pecan cashew and the chocolate ice cream with almonds, both packed with plenty of nuts. The burgers are tasty as well, and the peanut butter sandwich, loaded with real strawberries and crushed peanuts, is a delightful treat.

I absolutely love this place! I just wish there were more locations back home in Illinois. I grew up eating here, and the food and atmosphere are still fantastic. It’s nice to revisit my childhood memories every now and then. Whenever I'm in Evansville, this is my go-to restaurant. It's definitely a must-visit for us!
