The Oaksmere - EYE

We were eagerly anticipating our meal at the Oakmere, but unfortunately, the entire experience left us quite disappointed. The Dining Room has clearly undergone a significant redesign, featuring tasteful planters that offer some privacy to diners and an open kitchen concept intended to enhance the atmosphere. However, none of this worked for us. The menu was both limited and pricey, which was a letdown. Additionally, the restaurant lacked any real ambiance due to the poor service, and the idea of watching the chefs at work fell flat since we couldn't actually see them.

Fantastic restaurant and the food is cooked to order and is served nice and hot. Great menu, plenty of choice. Great breakfast menu. We will definitely be back. We love the Hotel too.

The food was lovely and very well presented with an excellent choice of wines.

The dessert was disappointing; I mentioned it to the staff. There was hardly any apple flavor, and it was partially frozen.

We've been loyal customers for years and have always enjoyed our visits. However, our last two experiences have been disappointing. Last night, we waited over an hour and a half for our dinner. I understand that staffing can be a challenge, but the lack of attention to detail was disheartening. We didn't receive any apology for the delay, and when it was time to pay the bill, we were overcharged, but fortunately, we caught it in time. The food was delicious, but we were left very disappointed by the service.
