I suppose that was in the direction of her boss. the manager brought me to a smaller table in the middle of our dinner where he needed it for a bigger group. Perhaps they would have put us first on a table for two instead of one for twelve. I don't care where in the world they are, it's just not acceptable to move a gast in the middle of their meal. to make it even worse, it wasn't because they needed the table, but he/she didn't like how we were dressed. I can say that after I wrote the part above, the things were much, much worse. we had come from viewing the historic grand prix in monaco and were in casual clothing. casual was chino shorts and a solid black t-shirt. (all rrl, a very expensive brand no less) the manager sat us and mentioned nothing about casual clothes to be a problem; and if it had been, no problem we would have just gone somewhere else. he could have told us that at the arrival, but instead, in the middle of dinner, we moved out of the way. Then the owner approached me and began to arrange me orally by stating that we were not “chish” enough for her restaurant, as well as a handful of exletscher. this came from a woman who looked as if she was in the rest was a cross between talbots and ann taylor’s basement collection. I found her attack still hysterical, as I am a designer who works with the biggest and highest end-mode brands in the world. we chose the location as there had mediocre reviews and is close to the beach and nowhere there was a necessary dress code. we were comfortably dressed in the pension that was perfect for a local beach restaurant. this woman went in to measure to use the word fangool about and about thinking, I did not understand it. that is an Italian form of the word “for you”. the experience was so poor and above the tip that I felt forced to write an evaluation while I sat in the restaurant. then she approached me and kicked me out of the restaurant. I stayed quiet and polite throughout the entire experience. the manager cried me “relieving your cheap life” as I was gone. I had paid my bill and had asked for free; and then again to chever D’Or, higher in the city of the beach. his disregard for the human condition was laughing, especially on his place in society. You're a restaurant worker who serves me to eat. I really don't have to say this thema anymore. To be honest, this was really the worst culinary experience I had on the earth. I can't help but advise everyone to control clearly this müllfeuer. unless they enjoy being abused by a haggard old woman at dinner. this is a facility that has a tyrannical owner who has zero respect for their mozens and takes their midst of the street restaurant far too seriously. final judgment: worst restaurant in france, and sincerely probably the worst restaurant on earth. this is not a reflection on the culinary team, as eating was acceptable, but by no means special. this is only a reflection on the deplorable person who runs it. To be honest, who attacks a paralysed person who is currently spending money and is holding himself to his own business. the experience seemed a perfect fit for a reality TV show like kitchen nightmares. it was so above the top, I had expected gordon ramsay to show up and scream to change their attitude or just leave the industry.
This is my favorite reataurant in the riviera which I know very well. Unpretentious and absolutely delicious food. Elegant, refined, sophisticated, and relaxed atmosphere. It feels like you crossed the border to italy. Incredible selection of options for gluten free guests, pasta is exceptional. Aubergine...parmigian is exceptional. Buratta very good. . Most helpful and warm service. I forgot my handbag there and did not realize until one week later and the had it waiting for me.
My friend and I were very hungry and every restaurant was closed today only this one was available but when we came in the waiter told us that everything was already reserved but SO MANY tables were empty with no sign on them. We are...sure that he didn’t wanted us in it because we were kinda young (both 22) and we were not « presentable » enough for him. Kinda rude and not polit and he lied to us. I do not recommand.
I highly recommend the tiramisu! One of the best I’ve had! There fish is also so good and the starters are a good portion. Superb friendly service and reasonable priced wine.
Down the street from our soon to be new home sits one of the most understated restaurants on the French Riviera. Besides the culinary pleasures that it offers, the Rossana in Eze has magnificent views of the Mediterranean, is across the train station and is...halfway between Villefranche and Montecarlo. When we started going there some years ago, it was a sleepy little place easily missed as you drove past on the coastal road, the Basse (lower) Corniche, on your way to Monaco. When new management took over it transformed it into a venue that attracts the rich and famous who wish to remain anonymous. Don’t expect heavy dark interior design like you would find in a traditional Parisian bistro. Let's face it, taffeta, wainscoting, heavy furniture and sconces don’t belong at the beach. Do expect white table linens, large picture windows and crystal stemware. The layout offers an interior and exterior seating area, which is enclosed and kept warm in the winter months by outdoor heaters. The youthful staff brings a lighthearted spirit to the Rossana without compromising on manners, service or uniform. They don the recognizable white starched spotless French apron and are as vigilant of their patrons as any seasoned Ile de La Cite waiter. As for the food … loosely quoting Lumiere’s line in Beauty and the Beast “after all, this is France and a meal here is never second best.” How can you improve on the freshness and taste of the catch of the day prepared to your liking, farm to table vegetables or the wonderful local Provence wines? As for deserts and coffee, just close your eyes and dream! Keep in mind that the Montecarlo car rally takes place in May and high season runs through September. So, make reservations well ahead of time if you plan on visiting during this period.
