Caffe Positano, Fairbanks

I visited this restaurant for a coffee and pastry. I was happy to discover that the owner roasts all the coffee on site. The price of their bags of coffee seemed reasonable, possibly on the lower side. However, the brewed coffee I tried (I believe they called it Golden) was underwhelming. It was a very basic cup of coffee. The pastry I had was a bit hard, possibly because it was towards the end of the day. If I find myself in the area again, I may give it another chance.

The croissants can be hit or miss, with some being delicious and others not worth trying again. The ones with chocolate or cream cheese are my favorites. I will continue to try them because when they are good, they are amazing. The Italian sodas are consistently delicious, especially with added cream. They are very refreshing. I also enjoyed the Iced Tuxedo coffee. The location is beautiful and the drive there is gorgeous. It is close to the beaches, making it a perfect spot for a beach picnic. While it is not a sit-down restaurant inside, there are tables outside to enjoy the California weather.
