Brewsters - Fairbanks

We ordered the Alaskan Amber beer-battered deep-fried Alaskan halibut served with steak fries, the Smoked Porter burger with waffle fries, the Signature Steak Bits, and a strawberry milkshake. We also sampled the soup of the day, which was a creamy chicken and rice, along with Southwest egg rolls and a bacon burger for dinner. The customer service was friendly, and the food was delicious! The presentation was lovely as well. Thank you!

I ordered the Halibut Sandwich for $19.99, which felt like I was eating five fried fish tacos stacked into a sandwich. It was a bit on the dry side, but the tartar sauce helped enhance the flavor. Mr. Joy opted for the Halibut Tacos, priced at $20.99, which came as two fried halibut tacos served in taco stands. He also tried the Chicken Fajita Wrap for $17.99, and to my surprise, it was quite good. Although he claimed to be tired of fried food and chose the wrap, he still ordered waffle fries as a side. This was a notable change from his childhood, when fried foods dominated his diet. In the end, we all decided to get the waffle fries, and they did not disappoint—they were truly delicious.

The food was outstanding, and the ambiance was comfortably laid-back. They even offered sweet tea, which was a lovely touch. However, our table was situated near the door, making it a bit chilly for us. While the mashed potatoes were a bit too soft for my liking, I really appreciated the subtle dill flavor in the vegetables.

Amazing service! Our bartender was so nice and explained their beer selection to us. Then somehow understood our friend who wanted a beer flight but was only using her hands to gesture the shape of a rectangle. And then brought us all flights since we all changed our minds on what we wanted. Plus the food was delicious!
