Soapy Smith's Pioneer - Fairbanks

Had a nice lunch of Chowder and Alaskan King Crab burger, both were Alaskan size, beating Texas size by 2x!! The owner was busy introducing the stories of his grandpa Mike Stepovich and his dad Mike Stepovich II, once the territory’s governor in 1958-1959 before Alaska became the 49th State. Excellent Crab sandwiches and fries. Gotta try the Agave beer. Need service personnel, but who doesn’t.

If you're looking for a small town dinner this place will check all the boxes! Bill the waiter was amazing. When I couldn't decided between the pastrami and the Reuben, he put pastrami meet on the reuben and it was AMAZING! The owner was there and telling us about his family heritage, which is the memorabilia on the walls. Great place to stop in for lunch or comfort food dinner!

Good food and great atmosphere. Our server (I think the owner) was great. Interacted with everyone in the place. Great beer selection too.
