A few friends and I visited The Vallata for a birthday dinner, as we've heard great things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, the only dish I enjoyed was the salad. My...
Our dinner began on a great note. We were promptly seated for our 6:00 reservation, our drink orders were taken right away, and our beverages were delivered quickly. We decided to order...
I’ve visited this restaurant several times over the years, and I can confidently say it has some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. It's definitely in my top 10, and I’ve traveled all over the USA and Mexico. My name is John Nygren.
Dinner service was leisurely; we made it clear we were enjoying our evening, and our server came by at just the right moments. The shrimp cocktail came with fresh homemade cocktail sauce, not the stuff from a jar. The same goes for the Italian dressing on the salad, which was fresh, crisp, and well-presented. I had the veal cutlet parmigiana "alla Vallata"—a cutlet topped with a slice of eggplant, breaded and fried to perfection. It was neither soggy nor over-seasoned; it was just right. The dish was served with a side of spaghetti, and the red sauce was delectable—exactly the kind of sauce I've tried to replicate at home but never quite succeed at like they do in fine restaurants. My wife ordered the chicken piccata, which is her favorite dish at Italian restaurants. She said this one didn't disappoint; it looked fabulous and she claimed it was one of the best she has ever had. The Vallata truly is the gem of the Goldstream Valley.
