Hummingbird Cafe - Fairfax

The po shrimp is absolutely delicious.  10 out of 10 I order at least twice a day from this restaurant. If you haven't tried it yet it is absolutely amazing everything they have is delicious and on point.

Best grits I've ever had in my life--hands down. Amazing for dipping their perfect, thick, hearty bacon in. So yummy it's madness!

I found my experience ordering from Hummingbird was vastly different than when I 've visited the restaurant in person. The items I ordered were extremely overpriced for the below average quality and small serving sizes, which is a shame, because I was previously a big fan of this restaurant. Between my friend 's order and mine we paid $60+ for three small cup sized servings of gumbo, they were very stingy with the shrimp for my friend 's $20 shrimp po boy sandwich (9 shrimp total), the fries had small portions...you get the idea. Then on top of it all the restaurant took 45+ minutes to prepare the orders at non-peak hours. Very unsatisfactory experience all around.

So many flavors!!! spicy syrup was too much for me but the seasoning all around was over the top. Will visit again

Very cute place, absolutely amazing food! Had huevos rancheros, beignets and my fiancé had scramble eggs with veggies and tofu. So so good will be back!
