Feedback gevenThis charming restaurant has plenty of seating and a small outdoor patio as well. The appetizers and pasta were delicious! The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The portion sizes are on the smaller side, so the prices are a bit high for what you get. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a drink and some pasta!
The service at this restaurant was consistently poor from beginning to end. We decided to celebrate my mother's 65th birthday here in search of something new, but unfortunately, we were met with disappointment. We asked to switch tables because our mother couldn't comfortably sit on bar stools, but instead of accommodating our request, they offered a pillow. The waitress was impolite and our appetizers and main dishes were served simultaneously. While the food tasted great, the portions were significantly smaller than expected.
I visited this restaurant early on a Saturday evening after visiting eight of Northern Virginia Magazine's Top Ten restaurants. There was plenty of room at the 13-seat bar when I arrived, but it started to get busier soon after. The bartender welcomed me warmly and served me a white wine spritzer as my opening drink. I also tried the spicy pork meatball appetizer, octopus appetizer, and squid ink pasta during my two-hour dining experience.
The starters, salads, and pastas are where it?s at. They?re accessible but also thoughtful and seasonal. Desserts and bread are fantastic. Also, Juliet is an amazing server with a lovely personality and always treats my family and I like friends. Other servers here also have been excellent.
We have wanted to try Thompson Italian for the longest time. Food was tasty. But disappointing is the abrupt service provided by a particular server behind the bar not listening to her customers and was so tuned out that she cleared our left-overs without packing my husband 's meal even after we said we would like to take it home. After we asked her what happened to my husband 's meal. She simply said she was mistaken and she did not offer to make it up, but said "they were
