The Soda: Flat The Caesar Salad: Limb, soggy lettuce The NY Strip: Odd color, chewy and flavorless... But it was cooked to right temp. I won't make this mistake again... You shouldn't either.
Stopped here to try as I have not been here before. Walked in at 9:15pm and something seemed off as there was 2 tables and an obvious regular at the bar. We thought about going to the next place at that point and then the hostess walked up so we were kind of committed at that point. She tried to sit us in a booth that was ripped up. I just walked to a different one. We got our drinks and they were good. Tap Coors light and a sweet tea. The tea was great. The server came to take our order and he was a little off but that's ok. I ordered some potato skins as an appetizer and then we places our order. when they came out we had to gnaw on them so needless to say we didn't finish them. Nobody ever came around until the meals came. I saw my colorless steak and I was like wow. Really? He had me cut into it to see if it was cooked right. It was a very done steak considering I ordered medium rare. I just told him it would do as I did not want to risk sending it back as we were only 1 of two tables now. The steak was only flavored with ground pepper. It was very dry and bland. I had to ask someone else for A1 as our server never came back for about 20 mins asking if we wanted desert. That answer was no as I handed him my card. I was glad to pay just to get out as I felt very dirty having sat in their booths. I have posted a picture of the steak and a picture of the booth they tried to sit us in. Needless to say I will spread the word about my experience. Not once did anyone else really come around as they were all huddled together in the back of the restaurant. As we left we noticed that Longhorn basically next door. Their parking lot was full. I don't recommend this place at this time and now with another steak house opening in Fargo plus two others, I am safely betting that Lone Star will fade into the night very quickly.
Okay maybe 1.5 stars but even that is being generous. I stopped by here for dinner on a Thursday evening. The empty parking lot should have been a clue. Staff seemed lost as if they did not even know how to seat people. I was seated at a table that had not even been wiped down. The waitress did notice and wiped it down for me. I ordered a porterhouse with Texas rice and steamed broccoli. I ordered the steak medium. When the food was delivered, the steak had areas that went from rare to well and actually tasted as if it had been cooked earlier and just heated up. The broccoli was cold again as if it had been sitting out for hours. Rice had heat lamp warmth to it but nothing else. For a meal that cost over $30 with beverage I should have gotten a better quality steak and it should have been fresh. Pass on this place. No wonder most their locations around the country have closed.
Although there are other steakhouses around town that I prefer, this is still a good place to eat. I have never had a steak cooked wrong when I have gone here. I think some of the steaks I have gotten could have a little more flavor but are still good. The sides did not impress me much but none were bad. The appetizers are pretty good
This was my first time at Lonestar and I enjoyed my visit. I tried the new cajun ribeye steak with a baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli. I ordered my steak medium well but it came out a little closer to well done. I found it nice that they have you check the meat to ensure it is done to your liking. The sides were excellent! You can't get a baked sweet potato many places so it is always a treat.
