I can still smell and see the lounge. I left ten years ago and someone remembered my father. The Jtwo and Nicola’s Ristorante next door actually slipped cakes to the bar they were the inventors of the first bar pier ever! I sat there at the bar when a baseball player could sign autographs, probably around 1967. I have so beautiful memories of the whole stripe that was my Sesame Street!
Super friendly bartender last nite first time there and plan to go back
One of the great old man bars. And it's just off the bike path.
It reminds me of cheers as everyone seems to know each other. it is low key spot that plays good music, has darts and great if you want to just go out for a drink. no frills, but serves its' purpose. Definitely worth taking a girl or going out with a group of friends if you just want to watch a game and have a drink... Not a club at all. One warning is that they tend to close a bit early, but would be ideal to meet up a get a pre-game couple of drinks. Prices are great as well, $4 domestics, $4 rack mix drinks. They even do buy backs, which is a lost art! Cash only and although they don't serve food, there is a pizza place and chinese restaurant next door.
It is good to be at home in the old neighborhood
