Despite having left the Detroit area ten years ago, this is our favorite restaurant to visit whenever we are back in town. The food is incredibly delicious and we can enjoy it without any concerns about cross contamination. They also offer plenty of Jain options that are made without onion and garlic.
Krishna Catering has one of the best reputations in the Indian catering industry in Southwest Michigan and for a good reason. I've been going there since I was a child and the food is great.
This restaurant is very accommodating for vegans and Jains, with all options clearly marked on the menu. The only time I had to ask about the menu was during the buffet. Their Undhiya (vegetable curry with peanut garlic) is delicious, and I also recommend their Leaf Pakora (batter-fried spinach). They have recently added Bhindi (okra) dishes that are fantastic. We usually order takeout and while the phone service can be a bit formal, our orders have always been correct and the staff at the counter are always friendly. I am excited to visit their new location in Farmington Hills soon.
The best food I have ever eaten. I came Sunday evening just before close at 8pm. I always check the bathrooms first. This one was clean. I ordered samosas, matter paneer, rice, chapati, mango lassi and some milk sweets. Great price at $13 for the lot. The food is served on polystyrene, the seating is old 60s diner style and you order at the counter. But don't let any of that put you off. The food is fantastic. The samosa were great, the matter paneer perfect and the mango lassi thick and wonderful tasting heavenly. I'm back again today for the same and it is just as good. Enjoy.
