Mmm, absolutely delicious! The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is straightforward and minimal, with Diné radio playing softly in the background. The food is incredibly nourishing and scrumptious. We enjoyed fry bread tacos, steamed corn stew, and blue corn mush. I loved everything, and the fry bread was just perfect! This has easily become one of my favorite meals in a long time!
This establishment has an incredibly authentic atmosphere—it's truly a whole vibe. With Navajo radio playing softly in the background and pictures of children adorning the walls, it feels like you're at your grandma's house. The food is fantastic; you can't go wrong with the fry bread tacos!
I am sure they have their own reasoning for serving French fries instead of fried potatoes. Potatoes are potatoes but with native food. Just my thought.
Folks come from all over the region to this place because it 's stable, reliable, and folks don 't mess around—unless you want 'em to. I 'll say this: if you know you don 't like mutton, fry-bread or other Native staples, go to Popeyes. But if you 're down with grilled Diné glory, you 'll be right at home here. No Texans involved so nothing is smoked to death or dripping with disdain. —Fresh-grilled squash, cabbage, red onions, mutton, and greasy-greasy fry-bread. —Though if they ever venture into other culinary disciplines to see what happens, I will try the snot out of it. All my nostalgic buttons are mashed here. Atmospherically you can expect flickering lights (sucks, but totally normal , lackluster facade and interior decor—but still adorned with family photography that 's totally magazine-worthy. —Which: if you know—you know. In the background you hear Tribal Radio (100.1 'ish? with news spoken in Diné—which makes even outsiders feel at home and adds a humbling awareness for non-Diné folks. Ren, Shay, and everyone there makes it feel like you 're talking to your brother/sister, etc. To paraphrase Rez Dogs: If you 're not a sh!t-a , you 're more-than welcome. Come here if you want human food made by humans, and a feeling that leaves you feeling a part of something older and bigger than yourself. —No others need attend.
