Le Canard Gourmand - Farnham

A first visit for an anniversary, on the recommendation of several people and we were not disappointed. Located in a pretty ancestral house in Farnham, everything was thought out to make the welcome warm, the service is excellent, the choices and the quality were there, we enjoyed the duck and the pork loin stuffed with mushrooms and bacon, especially the very well seasoned sauces. A great experience to repeat.

Un très bel endroit, le décor est de bon gout et le service de très haut niveau. Les prix sont corrects, nous avons pris le magret de canard, c`étit bien mais pas grandiose. La cart des vins est un peu restreinte avec l`emphase sur les vins du Québec, c`est bien mais un peu plus de choix serait le bienvenue. On y retournera car c`était notre première visite, possiblement que nos attentes étaient trop élevées!

A classy restaurant well decorated and located in an historical building in the Farnham downtown. The owners obviously love their restaurant when you see the level of details. This restaurant has been open for 7 years. The menu options aren't numerous but have also more seasonal / off menu options. Anyway better to have a more limited menu option and get quality which is what it turned out to. A vegetarian option would be welcome however and enable them to catch this trend. The duck magret was perfect and excellent. The owner / waiter gave me good advice on local organic wines. I followed her lead and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wine. I also asked her for advice on cycling routes on the local Wine Route. Again she obliged and made excellent suggestions. The co-owner who works in kitchen came out at the end of the evening and offert additional bike route suggestions. Where in Montreal would you get that quality food and drinks AND with very friendly / helpful attitudes? Only about 60km from Montreal? Worth putting on you must do list!!!

Nous avons goûté à la crêpe au bacon qui a elle seule vaut le détour et aussi au Manwich, un club sandwich petit déjeuner géant! Service personnalisé et amical.
