You can enjoy your meal in the garden feeling like at a weekend house. Lazy cat chilling under a tree just next to your table. The food is very authentic and well balanced. Great presentation. Typical cousine for this region. Everything has realy strong local and family expression. Top!
Recommended by the owners of Bressan wine and we were not disappointed. Not easy to find, but a cosy little restaurant with an excellent menu and a huge winelist – many many interesting producers. Its not a gourmet restaurant, even though the presentation of the dishes was quite impressive. We had great pasta and excellent meat. They have a great outdoor area as well, but we were inside due to rain. Go by cab, and dive into their wine list
We got this osteria recommended by an Italian friend from the region who has a great caffetteria himself and knows well, whom to recommend in the region. The ambient of the trattoria is simple, but comfortable. The menu is not very long, but we always perceive this as a positive thing. The bread that they serve is obviously home made. Especially the focaccia was very nice. Perhaps they could accompany it with some amuse bouche, but perhaps this is not a place to serve one. We chose three starters and one main dish and shared all of them. The kitchen was kind enough to split it the portions and the size of each was just perfect for sharing. They also decided about the order going from milder to stronger flavours and did it perfectly. Ricotta gnocchi with herbs and fricco were light and tasty and the fricco (crispy toasted cheese provided a contrast in texture and intensity of flavour. The orzotto (pearl barley risotto with chanterelle mushrooms was silky, with lots of flavour and not slimy (pearl barley tends to do this to dishes . The fricco element was repeated here; perhaps they could try something else; not because of flavour but simply not to repeat things. Raviolli amarticana were a nice play on the traditional sauce (I don 't know if it is linked to the recent tragic earthquake there and chefs offering the pasta as a charity collecting dish for the victims . The filling was made with onions and pancetta and the perfectly cooked pasta was in a rich tomato based sauce. The only main dish we had were calamari grilled in olive oil and served on a bed of polenta. A simple, rustic dish with calamari being tender and flavourful. Perhaps not a place for a fancy meal, but definitely for a hearty one, with good wine and affordable prices.
