We had a delightful meal at this restaurant last Saturday, discovering it by chance as we wanted to avoid the traffic heading to Pierro's on Hay St. The customer service was outstanding! Our meal was absolutely delicious! They were very accommodating to my preference for garlic and oil or pesto on my pasta side dish instead of the standard red sauce. I highly recommend everyone in the Fayetteville area visit this place at least once to try it out. It’s located in a quieter part of Fayetteville, about a mile south of I-295, away from the busy downtown area. You won’t be disappointed! UPDATE: I've heard that the Ramsey St. location has now closed.
I had a great experience during my quick lunchtime visit. The food was delicious, as it always is, and the service is consistently fantastic. My personal favorite is the Stromboli—it's so good that I never manage to finish it, leaving me with leftovers every time. Today, I tried the Turkey bacon ranch wrap, which was outstanding, while my friend ordered the meatball sub and also loved it. The restaurant has a good amount of space, including a cozy dining area near the entrance, a lovely bar, and a separate dining room.
Short-handed on servers and front of the house staff meant it took them a good while to bring me my drink, salad and bread. Didn't get checked on very frequently at all and I basically had to get other people's attention for my server to come check on me. Staff were cutting up and horsing around and having loud conversations in front of customers that probably were better off being had in private. The food was good, but they need more staff and to be more professional, especially if there are customers around.
I’ll start with the good first. My pasta was pretty good considering it was made in NC. Now that’s done, these garlic knots shouldn’t be called garlic knots. It’s more like baked Hawaiian rolls brushed with olive oil and dusted with parmesan cheese. Then it was ironic that we got served foam cups even though there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. Then even more so, how they ran out of Pepsi... Along with lots of other items they seemed to be out of. The other location on Hay St definitely is better quality. The service was extremely good which was a plus. But overall this is probably the closest you’ll get to somewhat authentic Italian in NC.
