Dine By The River Northumberland Arms

Arriving on time, it didn't seem that the restaurant had been made aware of our booking, something one of the staff later admitted. In spite of this however, the full menu was available to us, and we were even offered the Express menu. The food was very tasty, and good value, the only complaint we had was that we must have been sitting quite close to the kitchen. Unfortunately the noise was unacceptable, we could hear the staff shouting to each other, and the music playing. Overall, we would return, but we would perhaps request a seat in the actual restaurant, not in the room connecting the restaurant to the bar.

Had a lovely meal here and will be back again soon. Highly recommend.

I booked afternoon tea through the hotels website 1 week was in advance for a birthday treat. The hotel did not have our booking. The lack of internet was blamed but temporary arrangements should have been made. Open table was also blamed. Service was slow and poor. Great chef though. Will not be returning.
