The lady who served us was also friendly and helpful. I order the SMALL breakfast, that as you can see on the menu is £7.00. Plastic cutlery. Coffee is disappointing Instant Coffee, although it is advertised as Instant. The toast had no flavour whatsoever and tasted like cheap nasty budget wholemeal bread. It really was rank. Possibly reheated. Not enough butter either. The egg wasn't runny, it looked like it had been flipped over or possibly even reheated, it was fairly tough. The bacon was unsmoked and although it was nice and thick, it was fairly fatty and tasted cheap quality greasy. The hash brown and black pudding, yeah OK I guess, but I have had way better. Now, I could forgive all this if the price reflected the quality of the product. But it doesn't. Much too expensive for poor quality food. If this has cost me £4.00 I probably wouldn't quibble as the cost and quality would match somewhat. We won't be eating here again, we had slightly dicky stomachs afterwards too. It is a shame, as if you bought better quality produce, got a far better chef, kept the prices the same and made the presentation better, you would have a roaring repeat customer base given you are situated on the A47. But im sorry, as you are, it's far too disappointing.
We received excellent service from the lovely and helpful lady who served us at this restaurant. Due to Corona, we could only get takeout, but our breakfast was delicious with generous portions and served hot. We sat outside with our dog on the small green area beside the tables. We make a point of stopping by every year for breakfast on our way in and out of Norfolk, and have never been let down. We hope this tradition continues, as there's nothing quite like a proper English breakfast before heading off on holiday, especially since this restaurant is the only one on this part of the road.
I drove to the restaurant today after reading some mixed reviews. I wasn't sure what all the hype was about. The gorillas that were mentioned by others were actually a charity item for Macmillans, which is a great charity to support. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the place was simple but clean. It was being cleaned again as we were leaving. The further up the breakfast menu you go, the better the deals are, so don't try to be cheap. Considering that tea/coffee and 2 rounds of toast are included, it was good value. I will definitely be returning, possibly on my bike next time!
Ordered 4 breakfasts. On one of them we asked for no black pudding and tomatoes. Would you like a/more of was not asked. Wherever we have eaten have always been asked this. Drinks came out quickly and food shortly followed. Order included three lots of toast, two came out and one of bread and butter. Ok, could deal with that. Three meals here and still waiting for one. After five minutes asked and told it was just being plated up. They had obviously missed it. It arrived and when it did was given an extra sausage to make up for the wait shame as they were awful and the egg was missing. At this point I had given up and did not mention the egg. And then the toast arrived. I am thinking whose bread and butter did I have lol. Despite this, on our way home from holiday, a few days later we tried again. We asked to swap the sausage see previous comment for mushrooms. Yes, we could, but would incure a 50p charge as mushrooms more expensive than sausage that says it all . I could go on but I will stop here.
Just called in on our way home from Norfolk holiday, lovely fresh food and friendly service, would recommend
