Spanning across three rooms with a hidden cocktail bar out the back – the food, wine and service here are impeccable. Highlights for me were the lovely fresh Sydney Rock oysters (pairs beautifully with the Pewsey Vale ‘1961 Block’ Riesling), the BBQ Fremantle octopus, the beef tartare and the polenta chips with truffle mayo! Also make sure you order the Callebaut dark chocolate fondant for dessert, it is absolutely to die for!
Located on Old Northern Road, Castle Hill, this newly renovated venue is, without a doubt, heaven for wine lovers!<br/ With over 90 hand selected wines and sophisticated dishes, this place is worth checking out.<br/ Their decor is romantic and elegant with a rather classic approach on how they display the wine in the main dining room. With large bookcases filled with classic books and wine bottles throughout, you really get that bar feeling upon entering the venue.<br/ From the sharing plates to mains and desserts, everything was a pleasure to eat.<br/ Favourite dishes: chicken ballotine, chocolate fondant and creme caramel with walnut praline.<br/ We also enjoyed the dessert wine from Keith Tulloc Botrytis Semillon from Hunter Valley, NSW and Mount Horrocks Cordon Cut Riesling from Clarey Valley, SA.<br/
We recently dined at Lane Wine bar and were treated to an amazing experience. The recently renovated venue hosts beautiful decor throughout and extensive bookshelf/wine rack instantly attracts the eye. They also have an extensive wine menu which was great to see.<br/ <br/ As you can see the food here is stunning, fresh Sydney rock oysters and 5+ Wagyu rump cap are some of the great items you'll find in the menu, that said the beef was a bit chewy despite it looking cooked well (medium/rare). Special mention to the beef tartare that hosts a delicious vegemite cured egg yolk. We finished the meal of with a delicious chocolate fondant, made with callebaut 70% dark chocolate, the only way to make this exceptional dessert any better is to pair it with a Valdespini sherry.<br/ <br/ I highly recommend a visit wether it be dinner for two or after work drinks in their new back bar.
It’s worth a road trip to Castle Hill. This wine bar has more than 90 different wines for diners to pair with their meals. The restaurant is newly renovated and it has a small courtyard area if you are into al fresco dining. To go with our wine, the restaurant serves a selection of seafood and meat dishes, from bite size to more substantial sizes. We started our meal with some really fresh Sydney rock oysters served in 3 ways (Natural Pickled cucumber and apple Red wine mignonette). The sweetness and sour taste from the dressing brought out extra flavours from the shell fish
After a month of wait, The Lane Winebar didn’t disappoint. Looks great, food was amazing and the staff were wonderful. Do yourself a favor and try the octopus! Definitely be back.
