Although you can get pre-packaged sets to-go, the short wait for freshly steamed and fried dumplings are worthwhile. My boyfriend and I initially ordered one set of XLB (6 pcs) and pork/veggie fried dumplings (6pcs) for just under $20. We were so impressed with the delicious filling, hot broth and great texture of the dumpling skins that we couldn’t help but order an extra set of XLB. We highly recommend Yang’s and will definitely frequent here whenever we are in need of real comfort food.
Quick and cheap dumplings area tasty and ready for pick up.<br/ This is the express shop with minimal seating area (4-6 seats) food will come out quick and boxed up.<br/ <br/ Located close to the Burwood Chinatown arcade ... Unless you want to sit there's a nother shop close by.
We only tried their pan fried pork buns today, but it's already quite impressive. It was only served warm (which is good, because of the soupiness of the dumplings), but it's still crunchy at the bottom.I like the relatively thinner skin, and the huge and juicy pork filling. Every bite is juicy with soup spraying out, it's ultra delicious. I have to come again!
With a soft spot for Shanghai ever since visiting the amazing city, the next course in my progressive Burwood dinner was an easy choice. Yang’s Dumpling makes a great case for Shanghainese food on their social media. They’ve been in Shanghai for more than two decades, and are particularly well established in Burwood, boasting not one, but two outlets. The one I visited is their hole-in-the-wall express outlet on Burwood Road. It has just two tables and a couple of bar stools for those waiting for takeaway. The tiny store has a surprisingly hipster fit-out that includes the requisite fake flower-laden bike, caged Edison bulbs and shelves holding jarred food and plastic pot plants, along with a particularly fetching white maneki neko lucky cat). The menu is short, the service is brusque, but the dumplings really are excellent. You’re here for sheng jian bao or Pan Fried Pork Buns $8.80/6). They’re crisp-bottomed, doughy...
Makes some fresh high quality dumplings that are tasty and very filling. Great place to pop-in and order some takeaway. They have a simple selection available which makes choosing really easy.
