Several items on the menu were not available, the frozen vegetables were so over cooked they were translucent. We ended up here rather than wait 45 minutes for the Salty Pelican. Don't bother, wait for the Pelican
The food is delicious and their prices are great. The sweet potatoes and so good as are their shrimp. Can't beat the location right across the street from the ocean. It does have a nostalgic feel but could probably use some fresh paint.
The staff are extremely friendly. There was no wait time for a table. Food portions were large.
Waitress Kay was a hoot! Miss Pam was nice as well. But the fried food was almost toxic. Not to say the seafood didn 't start off well. . . . but everything deep fried came out with a cement like brown. . . really brown coating. Sort of like, they hadn 't changed the liquid (pro fry? mir-oil? fry-max? in years. . . . Deep frying battered fish shouldn 't come out dark, dark brown. The couple we were with had broiled fish. . . a MUCH BETTER choice. The coleslaw was a B- and even the hush-puppies (which again, started out well came out brown. . .brown. . brown. And then there were the clam strips. . . sort of like tasteless rubber bands coated in batter and cremated.
Not what I expected. Food was ok. service was fabulous
