I never, ever, write bad reviews... never... so this is a first and it only comes after having had the worst and most insulting experience I have ever had as a customer. The place smelled of pee as we walked in so we went straight to the terrasse outside. We waited in good spirits... the table was full of beer stains and as our drinks finally arrived (after a long time), he showed no sign of wanting to clean the table before giving us our drinks so I asked kindly if he could wipe it first. When our pizzas arrived (after more than 1 hour) they were burnt and hard as stone, so we made a complaint... his reaction was not at all compliant but offensive and rude. None of us could even cut a piece of our food and the kids went back to the hotel hungry. When the bill arrived we asked if we could have a discount given that the food was simply inedible. He attacked us saying we were rude to him since the moment we walked in, that ‘he had no need to enter into a discussion with us, as anyway we would never see each other again’ and ‘that we must be on our period’ ... We looked at each other speechless and walked away without engaging furthermore in what seemed like a hopeless situation... We were not expecting 4* dining, but we hoped it would at least be edible food... without being insulted... Never again, you bet!
Very old hotel but charming, the service staff along with the owner were wonderful, the food was pretty good chapoooo
The hotel is wonderful if you love historic houses. The hotel lives and breathes history. With every movement the floorboards creak and the beds squeak. It's half a museum, each room has a plaque telling a story from former guests. When you spend the night here, you not only travel to Goms, but also into the past. The renovated areas, such as the sauna and restaurant, fit well into the whole. The service was top and very accommodating. The only thing I didn't like was the soft electronic music during breakfast. Unfortunately, this is a trend in many hotels today. Unfortunately, it's even less appropriate here in a historic hotel.
The room is old and shabby, there is no room service. The bed is hard and shabby, the shower is small and has hardly any water pressure. The heating makes noise and the rooms are hardly or not at all insulated, you can hear everything from your neighbors. The breakfast is decent and otherwise the prices are very high. The service when eating is catastrophic. The waitress doesn't listen when he calls, he's unfriendly and distant, and it takes a long time to order something (if it's brought at all). An ice tea was not brought and the bill was not shared with us as requested.
