Feedback gevenWe have dined at this restaurant multiple times in the past. After hearing that there had been a change in management at the hotel/restaurant, we decided to try it out before heading off on our summer holiday. Unfortunately, it seems that the standards have slipped. The Caesar salad we ordered did not match what was described on the menu, and the Haigs salad seemed like it had been sitting out for a while and was not freshly made. I requested some vinegar but ended up having to find it myself. While it is true that a meal at this establishment is not overly expensive, the lack of customers on a Friday evening should be a red flag for management. If they want to succeed, they need to work on filling up those seats or risk going under.
I went to this restaurant on Sunday for lunch and ordered the Sunday roast lamb. Unfortunately, the lamb was extremely tough and I couldn't even cut it. The Yorkshire pudding was also burnt black.
My wife and I visited this restaurant on August 5th. Normally we would go to The Lomond Tavern in Falkland, but we left it too late to book a table. It had been a while since we last visited this restaurant, and our previous experience a few years ago was not great - the food was cold, overpriced, and the service was poor. However, this time around, we found that things had improved. It still wasn't as good as The Lomond, in our opinion. We opted for the two-course meal for £9.00. The food was okay - we've had better, but we've also had worse. The service was good and the surroundings were nice. We both ordered the Roast Chicken, and while the portions weren't large, they were sufficient for the price. Would we go back? Maybe, if The Lomond was fully booked and we needed a last-minute option.
Great wee bar, friendly and tolerated our dog, who is also friendly.
Good choices to breakfast included vegetarian. friendly staff and flexible setup.
