Thanksgiving day dinner was excellent. the service was exceptional and food quality and quantity was everything we hoped. we'll go on.
The food on the buffet was cold, couldn’t order our prime rib the way we wanted it cooked, the price has gone up, and our server took 20 minutes to get our drink order. We look forward to coming every year we’re extremely disappointed this year. Also the hotel didn’t have up the Christmas trees which we take a picture with yearly… don’t know if we will come again next year.
What a disappointment. They didn’t even have any decorations up. The dining area was similar to a banquet hall. It appears they cared more about packing people in than they did about the customer experience. Food was below average. They didn’t refill items as they ran out. Desserts were very poor. Store bought pie crust!!! Really they can’t afford a pastry chef at their prices. There was less than an inch of pumpkin pie filling in the pie. Had prime rib the following day at J Alexanders that was considerably better than what Mancy’s served and it was less expensive. I don’t plan on ever returning for any occasion.
Honestly, I was really excited to eat at Nancy’s. Growing up in Toledo I always heard about it. We were in Findlay for the night and I saw that there was a Mancy’s. Check in was kind of odd. I went to the front desk told him my name they found it then walked away. We just kind of stood there really not knowing what to do next. We went to the table sat there was no drinks at all. Water was eventually brought over. The server came over and introduce herself, she was very nice. She took her alcohol drink and food order at the same time. Soup and salad came out before our drinks, which was really slow considering the place was about a third full. Our steaks came out and they were just kind of bland. We ordered the Delmonico and filet at medium rare. We were asked to cut into the center, which we did. The center was slightly over medium rare, but that was fine. However, the other 2/3 of the steak for every bit of medium or more. I’ve never one time put salt and pepper on a steak that came from a restaurant. But even the bone marrow crusted butter didn’t give it any real flavor. So for the first time ever, I put salt and pepper on it. The ambience was very nice. We frequent nice steak houses often, and this one was just underwhelming and disappointing. Normally I would’ve said something to the manager which is very unlike me but I figured if we ordered some of their best cuts and even added their topper, it actually be any better?
